In the Know, January 2016

Hi <<First Name>>,

Happy New Year! We hope you’ve all had the chance to get some much needed R&R over the winter break. A special thank you to everyone who kept working through this period to ensure that vital services kept running smoothly.

In this time of resolutions, iNetwork is looking ahead to the coming year with great vigour and excitement. This year we are set to be busier than ever. Our resolution is simple. We pledge to continue cutting-edge development, and sharing of, innovative practice across our service areas. At the same time we will always be looking to expand our network and share more practices and ideas with a wider audience. We eagerly look forward to working with you on this endeavour throughout 2016.

Best Wishes from the iNetwork and iStandUK teams

iNetwork is supporting development of a Citizen Need Service Profiler

At some point in our lives we will all face difficult circumstances and may find ourselves in need of support from others or the state. It is recognised that if people can get easy access to the services they need, early on when facing a difficult situation, it can help to prevent a crisis further down the line. Too often, however, we are unaware of the services available and/or struggle to access them.

In light of this, iNetwork and iStandUK are collaborating with the LGA, IEG4 and other officers from a cross section of organisations in the North West to try to build a prototype app. The app will allow a citizen to simply tick boxes to describe their circumstances which will then suggest appropriate local services that they are eligible for.

iNetwork and Tameside Council's chief executive, Steven Pleasant, has been awarded an MBE in the new year's honours list.

Steven stated that he was proud to accept the award in recognition of the great work himself and Tameside have been doing in support of vulnerable people and asylum seekers.
