iNetwork "In the know", April 2015

Many thanks for taking the time to look at this. We’ve a lot happening on service reform, PSN, information sharing, security and access, “digital” and free lean training. The 2015 iNetwork programme is out too – please share with colleagues!

By the way, if you're on Twitter please follow us
@theinetwork as this is where we post the day to day updates and news.

iNetwork 2015-16

If you’ve been on the iNetwork home page you can view the new year’s programme which is more tightly focussed on a specific set of needs relation to service reform, efficiency and information based capabilities – sharing, intelligence and insight, security, transacting.
A big thank you to the 80 or so people who brought the priorities together. You can
see it here.
Are you ready for a Local Government Digital Service?
The wheels are in motion to set up a Local Government Digital Service similar to the Government Digital Service that runs .GOV.uk. This week we contributed to an LGA summit to propose ideas and leadership using the output from our Digital Managers Forum, which was also this week! A response to Government is required in the next few weeks to feed into the Autumns Budget Statement. To hear about the digital discussion see here
FREE business improvement training
Calling all iNetwork member organisations: here is your chance to access some more FREE Business Improvement Training delivered together with a partner college’s external consultants. For more see here.
All things PSN and N3
Network compliance is driving a lot of cost so if you missed this week’s WARP forum or March’s InfoSecurity Conference (where were you?!) then you might still know that a new version of the PSN Code of Connection is now available.
You might not know what’s happening to bring the compliance regimes together, the pilots in Leeds for N3 and PSN, a potential VPN model of accessing PSN services, and the GCSx email replacement.
If you want more information on this please come to the WARP sessions - drop ajike@i-network.org.uk a note for details.
A few things to be on your radar..
DCLG's Local Digital products
The Local Digital programme is developing a new set of products including a Deferred Payments Calculator API for the Care Act from our friends at www.ieg4.comSee here.

Changes to the local government transparency code
A new version of the code has been released. See here.
