Lightning Systems to Offer Hydrogen-Powered Transit Van
Lightning Systems has developed a hydrogen fuel-cell Ford Transit full-size cargo van and expects to begin delivery in the Fall. The vehicle zero-emission vehicle will have a range of over 200 miles. The current battery-electric vehicle has a range of 50 miles, and retains all Ford new vehicle warranties.
Next-gen Kia Soul EV on new platform – 2 battery options
The  Kia Soul EV will be available in the second half of 2018 with a 64 kw-hr battery pack option that can give the car a range of over 250 miles.
Harley-Davidson invests in electric motorcycle startup Alta Motors
Harley Davidson President and CEO, Matt Levatich has announced that Harley Davidson has purchased BRD (formerly Alta Motors) to accelerate the Harley Davidson move to electrify more motorcycle models.
Porsche to supply US dealerships with HPC fast-chargers
Porsche is planning to provide high speed chargers for all 189 US dealerships. The chargers will be capable of supplying their cars with 250 miles of range in 20 minutes.
VW unveils new ID electric sedan: 111 kWh battery pack, self-driving, and more
VW has announced their next generation of electric vehicles, badged as the VIZZION, will have a massive 111kWh battery pack that will give it a range of over 400 miles. The platform is also anticipated to be capable of Level Five fully autonomous driving and includes adaptive learning based on the preferences of each driver.

BMW has improved the range (and top speed) of the PHEV i8 Roadster..
Uber self-driving trucks are now moving cargo for Uber Freight customers
Uber's is expanding their autonomous truck driving in Arizona, using humans for pickup and drop off, but autonomous driving for the long haul trips between sites.
Tesla Semi does its first production cargo run with batteries on board
Tesla has begun using their Tesla Semi to ship batteries from their giga-factory near Sparks, Nevada to their vehicle production factory in Fremont, California, a 260 mile round trip over the 7,057 foot Donner Summit Pass in the Sierra Nevada Mountains. Tesla is expected to begin commercial production of the Tesla Semi in 2019 with deliveries starting in 2020.
Volvo's hybrid Polestar 1 available for pre-order next week
Volvo’s racing division, Polestar, has introduced the Polestar 1 GT, a high-performance hybrid. They anticipate a very limited build of only 500 cars per year, and to get one, you need to put down a deposit of $3K.
GM is increasing Chevy Bolt EV production, says CEO Mary Barra
Although sales of the Chevy Bolt have declined in the first two months of 2018, Ms. Marry Barra, CEO at General Motors, has announced that GM remains fully committed to electric vehicles and will increase production of the Bolt later in 2018.
Rimac unveils the 1,900 HP Concept Two electric hypercar
Rimac has introduced a carbon fiber EV with a 1,914 horsepower motor capable of zero to sixty in 1.8 seconds and a top speed of 250 mph. The high tech systems include facial recognition that unlocks the car, Level Four Autonomous Driving and a host of intelligent management systems to manage this rocket on wheels!
