Welcome Kellen Farnham!
Director of Development

As an attorney and former project manager with experience in development, Kellen brings his unique skill set to Bike Newport to help sustain and grow the organization as the Development Director. Kellen became a bike advocate while studying in Amsterdam and experiencing seamless bike infrastructure. Having biked many urban centers in America and Europe, often relying on bike-share, he has a keen understanding of the obstacles cyclists face, and some of the solutions that have been implemented. Kellen embraces bicycling as a viable form of transportation, and rides his fully equipped Dutch city bike every chance he gets. He is eager to bring his knowledge and passion of cycling and social enterprise to advance Bike Newport’s mission. You can reach Kellen at kellen@bikenewportri.org. Welcome, Kellen!

Celebrate Newport's Daffodil Days on a group ride

Join Bike Newport as we enjoy the efforts of Daffodillion to reach 1,000,000 daffodils in Newport! We'll meet at Touro Park (Bellevue Ave. between Mill and Pelham) and head out for a 3-mile ride to tour beds of daffodils throughout Newport, including Hillside and Cliff Walk, ending at Ballard Park. Bring a camera, bike lock, and wear yellow - a "Daffy Duck Call" to all those wearing their Daffy Pin

On Tuesday, April 19th the 4th annual Elliot Kaminitz Father's Day Ride was launched at the Newport County YMCA. It was an extra special occasion to announce our event partners - the Newport County YMCAFort Adams Trust, and the RIDOT Highway Safety Program. The 2016 Elliot Kaminitz Father's Day Ride will take place on Sunday, June 19th - beginning, ending and celebrating at Fort Adams State Park. This family event will offer 6, 10, and 25 mile bike rides along the oceanfront of Newport, a two-mile Harbor Walk, and a Kids "Tour de Fort". Everyone can participate - no one will miss the ride for financial reasons. Our goal is to have more families and riders of all ages and abilities participate in this celebration of safer cycling. Visit the Father's Day Ride website here, and click here to register.
