Bike Newport Brings the Cyclists' Perspective
to Multi-State Road Safety Conference 
Yesterday in Providence, Bike Newport Executive Director Bari Freeman spoke on a panel at the 2014 Northeast Transportation Safety Conference. These important discussions are often exclusive to planners and engineers - we'd like to thank RIDOT for including the cyclist's perspective on vulnerable road user safety.  
Open Tower at Miantonomi Park: 
Sundays,  September 7th & 14th

Looking for a new and different bicycling destination? Check out Open Tower at Miantonomi Park - great for road or mountain biking. This is a collaborative effort with the City of Newport, the Aquidneck Land Trust, and Bike Newport to provide locals and visitors alike with an opportunity to climb historic Miantonomi Tower, the highest point in Newport. You can see Block Island on a clear day! Visit or volunteer from 11am-2pm.

(Most) Saturdays: Ocean Drive + Sachuest Point loop with starts at Miantonomi Park (8:45am) and Touro Park (9:30am). Check the calendar for details.

Sunset Yoga + Biking
Tuesday, September 9th

Join us for the final installment of our Biking + Yoga Series with Thames Street Yoga! Meet at 5:30pm at the King Park gazebo for an 11-mile Ocean Drive loop followed by a one hour outdoor yoga class. $10, BYO mat or towel.

Sunday, September 14th

Register now for StarRide14! Help our at-risk kids by riding to benefit the Star Kids Scholarship Program. Five scenic Ocean Drive routes for all ages and abilities. Adults $35, students $15, children under 8 for free. Purchase "Keys to a Child's Success" ($10 each) at Sign-In. Terrific prizes if your key opens a treasure chest! Register online here.  

Bike Newport Goes to Block Island
Sunday, September 14th

Keep summer going and legs pumping by adventuring with Bike Newport to some of the best bicycling destinations in New England! Leave on the 9am ferry from Pt. Judith, spend the day circling the tiny teardrop. Ride is ~30 miles, pretty hilly. RSVP here

The Woony Ride brings out families and avid cyclists from the all over the region to enjoy the beauty of the Woonasquatucket River, a historic asset to the state of Rhode Island. More info here.

A 26 mile charity bike ride across all four major bridges connecting Aquidneck & Conanicut Islands to Rhode Island's main land. More info here
