Open Garage Nights:
Tuesdays and Thursdays 4-7pm

Have you seen Bike Newport lately? The joint is jumping on Tuesday and Thursday evenings during Open Garage (4-7pm). Folks who know helping folks who don't know - all connected by the desire to get more bikes back on the road. Bring your bike down for some Bike TLC. Or volunteer and build your own bike from our inventory of donations and rescues.  We provide the bikes, the tools, and the assistance. It's DIY at the Open Garage!

New Programs:
Bike Safe Sessions and Ladies Nights

Location: Bike Newport, 29 Spring Street

Bike Safe Sessions: Wednesdays at 5:00pm - bring your questions and your commitment to be a "Roll Model". To ride in Newport, means to share the road with cars and pedestrians. We'll review the Rules of the Road and recommended road positioning so you can be safer out there.
It's Ladies Night at the Bike Garage: Monday, July 18th 5:30-7:30pm - no boys allowed! We'll get a little greasy and talk the ABCs of pre-ride and roadside maintenance and minor repair. Let us know you're coming

Community Garage and Garden!

We've adopted the beautiful vertical gardens that graced Catalyzing Newport's Mayor's Office 2061 at the former Coffey's Citgo. Come by, help tend them, and harvest the fruits of our collective nurturing. Thanks to the gardener's of Aquidneck Community Table!

Congratulations to The Newport Health Equity Zone

The Newport Health Equity Zone (HEZ) held its Spring Into Summer event on Wednesday, June 29th -  it was an extra special celebration as the HEZ was awarded a $35,000 grant and generous media support from the Champions in Action team of Citizens Bank and NBC 10 (WJAR). The Newport HEZ is a city-wide coalition mobilizing residents and resources of the Broadway and North End neighborhoods to make Newport a place where everyone can thrive by focusing on areas that promote good health. Bike Newport is proud to be a member of the HEZ collaborative!

Fourth of July Bike Parade

Thank you to all who participated in our Fourth of July bike activities! We had a great time decorating bikes at Ellery Park and then parading to Washington Square. See more photos here.

Join the Newport County Community Mental Health Center (NCCMHC) on one of three rides - 10 mile, 25 mile or 45 mile to raise funds in support of NCCMHC programs which provide quality, comprehensive behavioral health services to those in need. This year the event will play a crucial role as the demand for services has increased by over 30% in the past five years while funding for NCCMCH services has declined. Enjoy a beautiful ride with friends or family while raising awareness for a wonderful cause. To view the routes click HERE.
