Welcome to the Fall 2022 semester at the Vignelli Center for Design Studies. We are thrilled to share a few recent successes and offer a glimpse of some of the exciting programming to come.

Summer Design Workshop Recap

Over the summer, we held a workshop inspired by the Vignelli Archives in partnership with the Corning Museum of Glass.

A group of seven designers from various parts of the world created vases that in their own way reflected the Vignelli’s design principles. Using sketches and 3D prints from RIT’s Fablab, Corning’s master glass team brought each concept to life.

The process was documented and put together into a short film linked below.

Open Houses

New this year to our roster of events is our open house series. This series welcomes RIT, Rochester, and interested visitors from around the world to the center and its archives for six dedicated multi-day events over the course of the academic year. Each event will be uniquely themed, helping further student’s education while spreading the Vignelli design philosophy.
