We are excited to share with you some of the endeavors taken on by the Vignelli Center over this summer, as well as future happenings to look forward to.

The Annual Summer Workshop is Back!

This summer we hosted a week long intensive summer design workshop in partnership with The Corning Museum of Glass. Participants considered the Vignelli’s design ethos to design a vase that was then crafted by the master glassblowers at The Corning Museum of Glass. This workshop is part of an annual series of summer workshops hosted by the center. Keep an eye out for the upcoming videos and book documenting the workshop and final pieces!

Vignelli Dialogue

In collaboration with the Vignelli Center for Design Studies, the Folkwang University of the Arts, Germany initiated the project “The Vignelli Dialogue" with the aim to juxtapose a design philosophy born in 20th century Modernism with the challenges of current and future developments. With their projects, the industrial design masters students each reflect their own ideas regarding the Vignelli Ethos, thus exploring how it holds up towards design challenges of the 21st Century and a sustainable future. Their exhibition was shown at the Salone Satellite in Milan for Design Week.
