HAMPTON HOLLY DAYS WEEKEND

Hampton Holly Days: Operation North Pole

Thursday, Dec. 8- Saturday, Dec. 10, 4-8 p.m., Carousel Park. Celebrate Christmas in Hampton and the 100th anniversary of Langley Air Force. Take selfies with Santa, ride the carousel, be part of an interactive North Pole workshop, enjoy live entertainment by carolers, and cozy up with some hot cocoa and other holiday treats. The multi-day event ends with the Peninsula’s largest illuminated parade Saturday, Dec. 10, 4-8 p.m., Downtown Hampton. Free. Information.


Hampton Holly Days: Hampton Lighted Boat Parade

Friday, Dec. 9, 7:15 p.m., Hampton Maritime Center. The lighted boat parade features more than 20 boats brightening the Hampton River as they cruise in this nautical parade on the Hampton waterfront. Free. Information.


Hampton Holly Days: Holiday Market

Saturday, Dec. 10, 10 a.m.-4 p.m., Hampton History Museum. Shop from a variety of vendors offering unique, handcrafted items. Stay for savory heritage foods, food trucks, art activities, demonstrations, entertainment, and more. Free. Information.
 

HOLIDAYS IN HAMPTON

The Hurrah Players: Hurrah for the Holidays

Saturday, Dec. 3, 2:30 p.m., The American Theatre. The lively music revue is in the style of Radio City Music Hall and features holiday favorites from yesterday and today, kick line dancers, and a 100% chance of snow. $15. Information.
 

Hampton Roads Philharmonic – Winter Classics

Sunday, Dec. 4, 2:30 p.m., The American Theatre. The winter-themed classical program will have selections from Tchaikovsky’s “The Nutcracker” and his “Winter Dreams” symphony. Also hear other seasonal favorites such as “The Skater’s Waltz”, “Sleigh Ride”, and a special guest narration of “A Visit from St. Nick”. Information.
 

Dianne Reeves: Christmas Time is Here

Sunday, Dec. 11, 2:30 p.m., The American Theatre. The Grammy award-winning singer rings in the holiday with all our favorite holiday classics. Reeves melds her timeless grace into unforgettable jazz renditions of timeless seasonal songs like “Little Drummer Boy” and “Let it Snow”. $60-$65. Information.
 

Holiday train display

Saturday, Dec. 17-Sunday, Dec. 18, 9 a.m.-3:15 p.m., Main Library. Bring the whole family in to celebrate the holidays at the library, see a magical train display, and watch the holiday movie "The Polar Express". Free. Information
 

Catch the Gingerbread Man

Sunday, Dec. 18-Wed, Dec. 21, 1-5 p.m., Willow Oaks Branch Library. Solve riddles left behind by the Gingerbread Man. Free. Information
 

AROUND TOWN

Coliseum Central Holiday Parade

Saturday, Nov. 19, 9:30 a.m., Peninsula Town Center. Don’t miss the festive parade that will include marching bands, floats, helium balloons and Santa Claus. Free. Information.
 

Holiday Kwanzaa Marketplace

Friday, Dec. 2-Saturday, Dec. 3, times vary, Hampton University Museum. Purchase your holiday and Kwanzaa gifts from the museum shops, local vendors, and enjoy craft activities, live music, refreshments and more. Free. Information.


Phoebus Illumination

Friday, Dec. 2, 4-8 p.m., downtown Phoebus. Enjoy music, carolers, vendors, refreshments and more. Tree lighting begins at 8 p.m. Free. Information


Photos with Santa

Sunday, Dec. 4, 11 a.m.-2 p.m., Peninsula Town Center. Take a fun seflie with Santa in front of the Christmas tree. Free. Information



Breakfast with Santa at The Grey Goose

Saturday, Dec. 10, 9 a.m., The Grey Goose. Have breakfast with Santa and Mrs. Claus, sing songs, do crafts, and hear stories. Information


Mistletoe Marketplace

Saturday, Dec. 10, 10 a.m.-4 p.m., The Chamberlin at Fort Monroe. This event is in conjunction with the Fort Monroe Mistletoe Tour. The fair at The Chamberlin will feature handmade local crafters, artists, and a lunch buffet. Free. Buffet will be an additional cost. Information. Information.
 

Holly Days Concert and Tree Lighting

Sunday, Dec. 11, 4-5:30 p.m., Fort Monroe Theatre. The tree lighting of the largest holly tree on the post, located in Cannon Park, will begin at 5:30 p.m. and feature a special visit from Santa Claus. Also look forward to a holiday concert with the Hampton Roads Philharmonic. Free. Information.


Holiday Concert at Fort Monroe

Friday, Dec. 16, 7-8:30 p.m., Fort Monroe Theatre. This special event holiday concert will feature the U.S. Army Training and Doctrine Command Concert Band. Free. Information


New Year’s Eve Downtown Hampton Block Party

Saturday, Dec. 31- Sunday, Jan. 1, 9 p.m.-12:30 a.m., downtown Hampton. The party continues for a third year in a row. There will be live entertainment, no cover at downtown restaurants and bars, and Hampton’s own version of Time Square’s ball drop, an illuminated crab pot drop off of Old Point National Bank. Free. Information.
