In the middle of January, Folkie Phil - the producer and presenter of FolkCast - was admitted to hospital as an emergency case, suffering from acute pancreatitis. The cause of this condition remains unknown, and has not been linked to the two usual causes: gallstones or excess alcohol.
Phil was in intensive care for over a week, and then transfered to a hospital ward to recover. He is now home, but has been left very weak and it will be some time until he is fully recovered.
It is with regret that we must announce that the production of editions of the FolkCast podcast has been suspended until further notice. We apologise to all listeners and artists for this unavoidable interuption and hope you understand.
An announcement will be made in due course about the future of the show.
Thank you for your patience and your support. Many listeners have seen this news via our Facebook or Twitter feeds and have been in touch with Get Well messages. Thank you for all of them - they mean a great deal and have been a strong support at this difficult time.
If you would like to contact Phil, please do so via email, or through social media.
In the meantime, previous editions of the show remain available via the show Archive.
ARTISTS AND PRs: As no show is likely to be produced for several months, please be advised that submissions of music are therefore equally unlikely to receive an airing on FolkCast. Thank you for your understanding.
