I hope this week's minute finds you enjoying your first week of the fall season. Although considering it is going to be in the 90's in OKC over the next few days, it hasn't felt like fall made it here just yet. Thank goodness football is our reminder that it is here!
This past week at your OSHOF/JTM we welcomed a group of firefighters from South Korea. They are in town for two weeks training at the OSU Fire Protection & Safety School in OKC. They were walking through Bricktown and immediately recognized the statue of Jim Thorpe in front of our building. Upon seeing that, they made their way inside to take in the museum. Although they were not too familiar with American sports, they were certainly familiar with Jim Thorpe and thoroughly enjoyed his exhibits and video.
As I write this week's minute, we are putting the final touches on this year's Night at the Museum Dinner & Auction. Although the auction is Thursday night, I will not be able to provide you with a wrap-up until next week's Friday Feature. I would like to thank, in advance, our auction committee for their diligence putting this event together, the volunteers that will selflessly give of their time to make sure things run smoothly, and all of those who donated items to be sure our guests had incredible things to bid on. And to thank all of you who will purchase items that will make it possible for us to continue making a difference in the lives of young people across Oklahoma through our Bright Path Youth Programs. To all of you, my hat's off.
There is also still time to join our Thorpe Team of 100 and enjoy an incredible evening of food, fun, and entertainment October 3rd. To get a sneak peak at the entertainment portion of the evening, go to you tube and watch some of Rob Lake's amazing illusion videos. Join the Thorpe Team of 100 and see it up close & personal on the 3rd!
Because of you, we are.
