Diocese of Oxford

Message from the Bishop of Dorchester: With Bishop Steven’s arrival getting closer the pace of life has certainly not slackened and it is good to see a real sense of excitement growing in many quarters of the diocese. He will become the Bishop of Oxford on 6 July and will therefore be at General Synod as our Bishop but his official inauguration will not be until 30 September. In the meantime he will have said farewell to Sheffield and will have moved to Kidlington during August. In the fortnight after his inauguration there will be Eucharists in each of the four archdeaconries (dates to follow soon) which I hope people will make a priority. Then in the months that follow he is also planning to get round all the deaneries. Please continue to pray for him and for Ann at this busy time in their lives. + Colin

Free Youth Group Resource
The Children's Society have produced a new church youth group resource. The sessions are built upon their first-hand knowledge of supporting young people, no matter what issues they may face. It contains six youth group sessions from a faith perspective to help youth workers unpack key topics such as identity, sexting, mental health, healthy relationships and life online, empowering your young people to support themselves and their peers.
Each session is aimed at 11-16 year olds and is around an hour and a half long but can be adapted. See
