2018 has been a year of much transition and innovation for us here at KW Counselling Services

We have very excitedly launched our new online video counselling program with support from the Ontario Trillium Foundation, KW Community Foundation, and Zonta Club of Kitchener-Waterloo. Now, people who are not able to travel to our office for service can still receive the same excellent counselling from their homes!

We’ve helped nearly 4,000 people at our Walk In Counselling Clinic since we celebrated its 10th anniversary in August 2017. This continues to be the fastest, most accessible way for people to receive service. Many people find the single session is all the help they need. For others, it is the beginning of a therapeutic relationship with one of our registered psychotherapists.

Our Parenting with Passion courses and workshops continue to be extremely popular, as does our Temper Taming Together group which is always full within hours of opening registration! Our new parentingnow.ca website has celebrated its one-year anniversary. We have learned a great deal about how people want to receive parenting education and we will continue to refine the site moving forward.

This is really just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to our offerings. On behalf of the entire Board of Directors, I am extremely proud of our staff and students for the work they are doing.

Finally, this year we said farewell to Leslie Josling who served admirably as our Executive Director for 12
years. As you’re reading this, we are screening and interviewing candidates. I look forward to introducing our new ED to you in the near future.

I’d like to thank you for your past support of KW Counselling Services and ask that you please support us
again this giving season. For nearly 70 years, KW Counselling Services has been serving this community,
but we can’t do that work without your support. Thank you for your donations.

For those of you who are interested in helping to sustain the agency into the future, please consider a
contribution to our endowment fund at KW Community Foundation and help us continue to work towards
a community where no one is left behind for years to come.

Paul Rossi
President, Board of Directors

KW Counselling Services uses a secure, online platform called Greenspace to measure/learn about how people progress in their counselling. Research shows us that counselling outcomes are improved when clients measure their progress throughout the counselling process. Clients who choose to use Greenspace will complete some questionnaires about how they are feeling and coping in their lives. Both the client and the counsellor see the results.

If you are a client and would like more information about Greenspace or would like to try it, please speak with your counsellor.
