Happy New Year Everyone!
First off, great news from our President Jim Lemenchick:
"The Renfrew Golf Club is pleased to announce that Greg Lecky has accepted the position of General Manager and will start on February 19, 2018.
Greg brings a lot of energy and enthusiasm for the game of golf to the Renfrew Golf Club. He has a strong background in the golf industry as he has worked in the golf industry since he was fifteen years old.
Greg graduated from the Professional Golf Management Program at Georgian College in the spring of 2002 and became a member of the PGA of Canada that summer. His professional career started as an Assistant Professional at National Pines Golf Club in Barrie, Ontario. Three years later, he became an Assistant Pro at The National Golf Club of Canada in Woodbridge Ontario. Greg worked at The National for four years before becoming the Associate Professional at the Georgian Bay Club. Most recently, he was the General Manager of the Hollinger Golf Club in 2017 after becoming the Head Professional there in 2015.
Greg enjoys coaching golf and hopes to continue to promote and grow the game in youth and much more.
Please join me in welcoming Greg to our Club.”
For anyone looking to pay for their 2018 membership, Mel Clemmer will be at RGC this Sunday, the 21st, from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm. Even if you cannot make it to RGC, please give Mel a call and she will be happy to process your membership. A reminder that the early bird deadline for memberships, before the price increase, is February 28. RGC can break the membership payment into two installments, one now and one in February.
Finally, our Ladies Section is already working on its 2nd annual Overnight Golf Trip. This year we are again going to Bluff Point. Paul, the owner, has given us his entire resort on the evening of Tuesday May 15th. The trip includes overnight accommodations, 2 rounds of golf with cart, luxury motor coach transportation, dinner and a drink. If we are able to fill the resort, 32 ladies, we will be able to keep the same pricing as last year, $220 CDN for members and $250 CDN for guests. The trip is open to all ladies, not just our members, so if you know Rec League ladies or casual golfers who might be interested, please pass this information on. For more details or to sign up, please contact our ladies captain Kim McDonald @ 613-432-8496 or email@example.com
