In-person events? What is that!
It has been so many months since our church family last was able to get together. I know that so many of us are feeling the loss of being away from the encouragement of the church family. Well, I have some good news. On September 27, we are planning to re-open our Sunday morning service... in-person!
While we are providing the option to return to in-person gathering, please do so only if you are ready, and feel safe and comfortable gathering again. If you feel more comfortable participating in our online services, no problem! We will continue to provide online services with live-streaming starting on September 27.
If you decide to return, there are a few things you need to know before you come back... the experience will look different than what you remember! That being said, we will still sing, pray, and seek God in a way that points people to Him and brings glory to Him.
We do take your health seriously, and are implementing a number of protocols to prevent the spread of COVID-19. In doing so, we are relying on Alberta Health Services for guidance.
I want to encourage you to check our website next week, as we will be posting re-opening details for you to be aware of. While masks, physical distancing, and sitting with your household will be required, we will also be asking you to not shake hands or hug, and to not bring food or drinks. There will be programs for preschool and grades 1-6, but we cannot open our nursery at this time. For the time being, communion will continue to be online only. Again, please check the website next week for more details.
The other in-person event I want to bring to your attention is our Selfish-Potluck, this Sunday, September 13. The plan is to meet outdoors at the church campus for lunch, following our online service. Our motto is: "Your food, your chair, don't share!" In other words, everyone will bring their own lunch and we will have opportunity to visit with our church family and friends! We ask that you would maintain physical distance guidelines at this event. Because this event is outdoors, it is obviously weather permitting. In the event of cancellation, we will look to post on facebook during the morning service.
I think that's everything for now... hope to see you at the selfish potluck in-person, and for service online this Sunday!
