Hi Randy,

February may be the shortest month of the year, but there's no shortage of news here at InSphero. Editors of the NCATS/NIH Assay Guidance Manual selected us as the expert voice on 3D microtissues. We expanded our sales and bioproduction facilities to better serve US-based customers. And a new paper in Cancer Medicine demonstrates the utility of 3D microtissues grown in our GravityTRAP Plates. Plus we have a special offer for researchers presenting work at SOT.  


InSphero lends 3D expertise to NCATS/NIH Assay Guidance Manual

InSphero scientists Monika Kijanska and Jens Kelm were tapped by SLAS 3D microtissue SIG chair Dr. Sitta Sittampalan of the National Center for Advancing Translational Sciences (NCATS) at the National Institutes of Health (NIH) to write a new chapter for the Assay Guidance Manual, published by NCATS/NIH and Eli Lily and Company. Their contribution, titled "In vitro 3D spheroids and microtissues", discusses 3D-cell-based assays for assessing cell viability and toxicity, provides sample protocols, and summarizes advantages of 3D models over traditional 2D cell culture.  It's a good read for anyone using or planning to use 3D models.

To meet increasing global demand for our assay-ready 3D InSight microtissues and services, InSphero is expanding our team of sales professionals. We now have experienced, customer-focused US East and West Coast regional sales directors and field application scientists available to better serve our North American customers. Read more....


InSphero Inc. is open for business

InSphero Inc., the US-based subsidiary of InSphero AG, officially began accepting orders and processing financial transactions for customers in North America on February 1. This transition streamlines access to InSphero products and services for our US-based customers, and sets the stage for our recently completed bioproduction facility in Brunswick, Maine, to begin producing and delivering microtissues directly. Read more....


Breast cancer study shows advantages of 3D microtissues 

A recently published study by Falkenberg et al. at the Helmholtz Center Munich in Neuherberg, Germany, applied InSphero hanging drop technology to produce 3D microtissues from breast cancer cell lines. Their results show that 3D microtissues grown in InSphero GravityTRAP™ Plates offer a reliable, reproducible model for efficient drug evaluation and validation in preclinical analyses.  Read more....
