May 2016

Hi Manu,

May is national cancer research month in the United States, so we thought we'd kick off this month's newsletter with a big shout out to the many researchers, physician-scientists, survivors, and patient advocates who are passionately working towards cures for cancers. Your commitment and accomplishments are truly InSpiring and, as a provider of 3D solutions for oncology, we are honored to be able to help further your research and cancer drug discovery efforts.

In this month's newsletter, we'll tell you more about our 3D InSight™ Oncology Services, show you where to find our handy new microtissue production schedule online, and give you a link to our latest technical protocol for preparing microtissues for histology.

Leverage 3D InSight™ Oncology Services for cancer drug discovery and screening

3D InSight™ Tumor Microtissues enable the development of novel in vitro assays for compound classification. InSphero now offers a comprehensive suite of standardized services designed not only to evaluate efficacy and potency of compounds in a more physiologically relevant in vitro model, but also to assess kinetics of tumor relapse potential and penetration of antibodies into tumor spheroids. All services are designed to "plug-and-play" with 3D InSight™ tumor models derived from cell lines or primary cell sources. If you lack the time or internal resources to implement 3D testing into your oncology workflow, entrust InSphero experts to deliver experimental results in 3D. Learn more...

Introducing our user-friendlier online production schedule

Our 3D InSight™ microtissue production schedule has been available online as a downloadable .PDF file for years, but now we've made it even easier for you to find catalog numbers, order deadlines, production lead times, and shipment dates. On our new Microtissue Production Schedule webpage you'll find everything you need to know before requesting a quote or placing an order. Bookmark the page on your browser to keep it on hand for future reference or check the Ordering Information tab on any microtissue product page for model-specific details. By the way, if you have any suggestions for further enhancing product information pages on our website, please email us!

New Technical Protocol:
Microtissue Processing for Histology with HistoGel™

Microtissues can be processed for histological analysis in a similar way to native tissue materials, however because the samples are so small, processing can be tricky. This new technical protocol describes a simple method for paraffin embedding of microtissue specimens using HistoGel™ processing gel. Specifically, it provides step-by-step instructions on how to fix microtissues in paraformaldehyde, prepare microtissues for embedding using HistoGel™, and process the embedded microtissue samples.
