March 2016

Hi <<First Name>>,

SOT 2016 and ToxExpo are less than two weeks away, but we're so excited about our new multi-donor human liver microtissues that we can't wait to tell you about them! In this month's newsletter, we'll give you a sneak preview of multi-donor products and services that will make integrating 3D microtissues into your tox workflow as easy as 1-2-3. We'll also give you a taste of what we've got planned for SOT, share some words of praise about our Body-on-a-chip project, and put the spotlight on our latest technical protocol.

Introducing the new 3D standard for DILI detection

At SOT 2016, we'll unveil 3D InSight™ Multi-donor Human Liver Microtissues, a new 3D in vitro model that better approximates the average human response to compound dosing. With convenient kit and service options, we make it much simpler to evaluate, adopt and integrate 3D liver microtissue models into your DILI detection, and drug safety and efficacy workflow.

Stop by our ToxExpo booth to find out more! Not going to SOT? Contact us and we'll send you details after the show.

Must See Monday at SOT!

Monday afternoon and evening at SOT is the place to be if you're a toxicologist interested in 3D! Here's our pick of events on Monday you won't want to miss:

Using 3D InSight™ Human Liver Microtissues for DILI Prediction. Learn how our human liver microtissues have been battle tested with 100 compounds of varying DILI severity. Attend a poster presentation or talk by InSphero Product Manager Dr. Simon Messner:
  • 1-4:30 PM Scientific Poster Session
  • 4:30-5:30 PM Exhibitor-hosted Session

Beers and Spheres Social
Our annual SOT rite of mixing cold beverages with most games spherical (bowling, bocce, foosball, etc.), all optimized to make science networking fun!  RSVP if you can join us!
6-8 PM, Fulton Alley

But that's not all! For a complete list of events, check our online conference planner  and don't forget to stop by booth #1844-1845 to chat with our 3D experts about your next DILI project.

Body-on-a-chip project praised by EU Council

InSphero's Body-on-a-Chip project was cited as an example of ground-breaking and innovative Swiss research sponsored by the Seventh European Union Framework Programme (FP7). A next generation drug testing device, the “body on a chip” is a microtissue-based model that simulates several organs and the metabolic processes taking place in these organs. We were honored this project was recognized by the Ministers for COMPET (Research and Innovation) as an example that made them proud! Read more…

New glucose-stimulated insulin secretion (GSIS) protocol for microislets

InSphero 3D InSight™ Human Microislets are an ideal in vitro model for testing long-term effects of compounds on β cell function for drug discovery and drug safety assessment. In our latest technical protocol, we walk you through the steps for performing a GSIS assay to assess pancreatic β cell function using microislets and commercially available ELISA kits. Read more…
