Celebratory fireworks may be the July theme in the United States and France, but InSphero's securing of CHF 20 million in Series C financing from WILD Group Management AG, is triggering pyrotechnic-worthy celebration in Schlieren, Switzerland as well.  The recently finalized investment, announced in today's press release, is being used to rapidly expand InSphero's global footprint and broaden its portfolio of novel 3D microtissues and contract research services for 3D drug safety and efficacy testing.

Imaging Bile Canaliculi in 3D Liver Microtissues using the Opera Phenix High Content Screening System

Discover our new Application Note developed in conjunction with PerkinElmer: 3D high content screening assay to study hepatobiliary transporter function in human liver microtissues using the Opera Phenixâ„¢ High Content Screening System. Confocal imaging and automated image analysis were used to quantify BSEP and MRP-2-mediated efflux of fluorescent substrates into bile canaliculi.

Latest Publication Explores Combinatorial Treatments for Breast Cancer in 3D Tumor Spheroids

Radiation therapy is an important part of breast cancer treatment. Sometimes, however, tumor cells become increasingly resistant to radiation therapy. In this BMC Cancer article, scientists at Helmholtz Zentrum München have developed a 3D microtissue-based phenotypic screen which, for the first time, enables them to test which chemotherapeutic drugs can re-sensitize breast cancer cells to radiation.
