Snow King: Snow Making & November Training
We turned the guns on for the first time early morning of November 1st.  Temperatures have been too warm to make snow efficiently so we are shooting for a mid November training date. Numerous teams from around the west are planning to join the JHSC for early season training including the Austrian National Snowboard team. Pray for cold temps!

Alpine Snowboard Race at the King
JHSC is excited to announce we are hosting a USSA "Race to the Cup" alpine snowboard race November 29-30, 2016 at Snow King Mountain. It will be a dual GS with about 70 racers. This is the equivalent of a NorAm level event and will feature the best racers from North America and beyond. This is the first time JHSC has hosted a race like this and we're very excited to showcase such an elite event on our Town Hill.  Click here for Race to the Cup updates.

JHSC Welcomes Lance Pitman to Freeride Program
We are excited to announce the hiring of Lance Pitman as our new Head Snowboard Coach / Assistant Freeride Program Director.  Lance is one of the early JHSC snowboard team members who went on to lead a very successful career as a professional snowboarder.  Lance helped put Jackson Hole on the map in the snowboard industry and is credited by Travis Rice as being one of his roles models.  Learn more about Lance from his JHSC bio here.

Academics Update: Early Release
Early release schedules begin for student athletes at all schools on Monday, November 7th. We're very excited to have such cooperative collaboration from all of our county schools this year. Athletes will participate in dryland training, goal-setting activities, tuning workshops, and other activities until they are on snow later this month. School specific correspondences have gone out from our academic coordinator, Grace Tirapelle.  Please direct any questions to Grace at gtirapelle@jhskiclub.org or 559-977-8417.

Trail Creek Clean-Up Day: This Saturday, 11/5
Trail Creek Clean Up is this Saturday the 5th! This is our chance to prepare Trail Creek for the season so when the snow flies we can ski. We need help setting up the Pisten Bully barn, assembling metal stairs for the cabin, cleaning the cabins, collecting already cut wood, weed whacking, brush trimming, chopping firewood, and more. If the weather cooperates we'd like to stain the cabin as well. Please sign up for a volunteer position here.   Check in with Johnny Springer or Ben Morley between 9-10 a.m. on Saturday before starting any work.

Important upcoming events, save those dates...
  • November 3rd - Alpine U12 parent meeting, 6-7pm Snow King Lodge Room
  • November 5th - Trail Creek Clean Up. Sign up to volunteer here.
  • November 5th - Storm Show's "Zero2Hero" premiere, Snow King Resort
  • November 10th - MSP's "Ruin and Rose" premiere, Snow King Lodge Room
  • November 18th - Opening day at Grand Targhee
