In November 1919, President Wilson proclaimed November 11 as the first commemoration of Armistice Day with the following words: "To us in America, the reflections of Armistice Day will be filled with solemn pride in the heroism of those who died in the countryâ€™s service and with gratitude for the victory, both because of the thing from which it has freed us and because of the opportunity it has given America to show her sympathy with peace and justice in the councils of the nationsâ€¦"

Thanksgiving at the Inn

Indulge in pieces of artwork masquerading as cuisine! Our culinary team promises a meal to remember with items such as traditional herb roasted turkey, smoked pork loin, salmon, and cider glazed tofu. Let our upscale dining room embrace your senses while you cap off your meal with a piece of pumpkin pie with fresh whipped cream or chocolate bread pudding with chocolate gelato. Ashely's Gardening Tips

Save pumpkin seeds for the birds! Before discarding fall decorations, scoop out pumpkin/squash seeds and spread on a tray to air dry. Or, bake in the oven for a short period of time to quicken dry time. Then, put the dry seed in a food processor to chop them up a bit, making it easier for little birds. You can put the seed out right away or store it in a cool dry location until later use this coming winter season. Click here to visit Ashley's blog.
