I am humming my favorite Joanna Newsom lyrics to myself. Anyone else?

I almost didn't write a newsletter this week. So much has happened. Both good and bad.

Good: I went to the Rose Garden (not Moda Center) to smell roses. Sometimes you just need to get your sniffer all up in a petal and then decide what every rose scent smells like. Spoiler: one of them smelt like a scratch-and-sniff sticker and I liked it.

Bad: The street fair. I guess the street fair was fine but it was bad for me for personal reasons!!! I will not reveal because it's such a long story for such little payoff.

Good: I made my siblings come over for a family breakfast over the weekend. They thought I was going to announce something but all I really wanted to do was make pancakes, a finely cut up fruit salad, and hang out. What is so suspicious about familial love??

Good: I hiked Tom Dick & Harry Mountain. This was almost classified as "bad" because I was a bit more out of shape than the previous times I've hiked it. What a magical hike though. I even cried a little coming off Mt. Hood because it is so beautiful. There is a lot of beauty in this world!!

Bad: My grandparents' cat went missing.

Good: My grandparents found their cat.

Bad/Good: My grandma needed to go to the hospital but she will be okay!

Good: I picked blackberries with my parents and we made blackberry crisp. It was so delicious and five different people got to enjoy it (including me multiple times).

Good: I bought a new nightstand. For the last week or two my most personal items have been in piles around my room. I needed those two drawers!!

Bad: My friend's house was burglarized! She came home while the guy was in her house.

Good: They caught the bad guy and I got to have a sleep over with my friend!

Good: I went to a music open mic to attempt to conquer my stage fright. It didn't quite work but you have to start somewhere.

Bad: The pizza at the open mic was bad. And I like basically all pizza, so please take note that this was particularly bad.

Bad: My cousin passed away this week from cancer. She had been battling cancer for years and trending downwards that past few months. The only good thing is that she is no longer in pain.

Good: The President of the United States issued out some loan forgiveness. This will effectively put me out of debt. I am so excited and while we need to do something about the cost of education and how educational loans function, spending money on education is so much cooler than spending money on war and stuff.

Bad: There have been a lot of spiders in my house.

Good: I have not been bitten in weeks! I might even start a digital bug catalog of my forest.

Good: I went to the Phoebe Bridgers concert and it was really enjoyable. She is a good one.
