Form of the Week:
Pre-Prep Get Creative

This half term, Pre-Prep teachers have carefully linked subject areas together to be able to approach them in a more creative and personalised way. Working on the topic of ‘Houses and Homes’, the children have looked at the history of houses and homes, which has provided opportunities to carry out creative activities. During art lessons, children designed a home of their choice and made a clay tile based on their designs.

You might have heard me sing in some of the school concerts… I have been singing for about 6 years and have just passed my grade 5, which I’m very pleased about as I practiced very hard on the pieces that I needed to learn. It also means that I got to do two music auditions for potential scholarships at schools I am sitting for at 11+.

Form 5 are currently covering a unit of work on ‘Mystery Stories’. Having studied examples within the genre, the children have been working hard to write their own stories. During the planning stages, we all discovered how challenging it is to construct a plot, which includes twists and turns to keep the reader guessing as to who the culprit is!

Norfolk House vs Maple Walk

After much exciting negotiation, we can reveal that we are piloting Latin on the curriculum for our Form 6 pupils after half term! Mrs. Fern will be teaching the group their basics for an hour per week, with Mrs. Osborne alongside until her maternity leave. We’re very pleased to be seeing Mrs. Fern back regularly in school and we felt that it was an ideal time for the children to get the opportunity to learn Latin now that their exams are finished!

By Leona, Form 6: On Friday 1st February, our school’s netball team played a brilliant match against Maple Walk. Taking the win by 4-1, Norfolk House played very well. It was a tense game, as they did fight back. Like every match, the start could have been better, but gradually stronger passes and better defending came in handy for us.
