Form of the Week:
Form 3 Re-enact
Myths and Legends

Form 3 has been studying ‘Myths and Legends’ in their English lessons and they have used a wide range of myths, including Dreamtime stories from Australia and Greek legends such as Perseus and Medusa, to identify some common features, such as heroes, villains, quests and mythical creatures. The children re-enacted scenes from the well-known myth, ‘Theseus and the Minotaur’, which was great fun! Watch the videos.

In order to promote our Positive Playground policy, Norfolk House has formed a committee of eight children from Forms 3-5 who have been charged with the task of keeping our playground a fun, safe and cooperative place to play. Most recently, the PPC have introduced some new equipment into the playground. They gave assemblies to both Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2, demonstrating how to use the new toys, including hoop skippers, twist ‘n’ jumps, a new bowling set and some juggling equipment.

Form 4 have been planning and drafting their very own play scripts and have used Roald Dahl’s ‘The Twits’ as inspiration. They have now acted out and filmed  their plays. Read an extract from Finley’s script, The Marble Trick, and see the pupils from Form 4 performing each other's scripts. "(Mr and Mrs Twit enter stage grumpily. Mr Twit enters right, and Mrs Twit enters left.) Mrs Twit: (Stamping on the floor and folding arms.) I’m sick and tired of you playing nasty tricks on me..."

'The Joy of Exams' By Ishmael: "The examination process was a tense time in my, and indeed the entire class', education at Norfolk House.  The few weeks before the exams were just as stressing, due to the endless, yet somewhat enjoyable, revision, tutors, and exam-style tests.  However, we were confident in ourselves throughout the tension of the period..."

Congratulations to the boys’ football team on their efforts in the ISA tournament which was held last week at Powerleague. A total of 56 teams from London and Hertfordshire competed and the boys played six matches. Norfolk House finished 3rd in our group, winning three matches, losing two and drawing one. We scored 14 goals and conceded only 7.

Message from the office
There will be no after school club on Wednesday 6th February for KS2 - Powerleague, due to Form 5 Parent Consultations.

Could you ensure all uniform, including outdoor coats are labelled with your child's name so lost property can be returned to it's rightful owner. On that note, can we please have a push on the correct outdoor uniform - navy hats and coats, please.

It seems this bout of bad weather has passed so hopefully no more disruption to the school day!

Finally, we have a box for collecting Sainsbury’s vouchers outside the office, so please send any in that you collect. Last year, our Tesco vouchers bought us webcams and flip cams which the children have loved using, so they are worthwhile!
