Year 5 Are Stirring Things Up For Christmas!

Year 5 have been stirring things up in the kitchen this week, as they helped to prepare the Christmas puddings for the school Christmas lunch. They learnt some of the history of the Christmas pudding, including the fact that it should contain 13 different ingredients to represent Jesus and the 12 apostles, and then took it in turns to each add an ingredient and give the huge mixture a stir.

2BN’s Assembly About Helping Those Who Are Lonely

Richard from the Rhema Partnership gave an informative talk last Wednesday to the Key Stage 1 and 2 pupils about the charity’s work and how it helps Deepa and Nikil, the two children who are sponsored by Weston Green. The pupils were interested to see Richard’s photos of the Rhema Garden and the Rhema Medical Centre.

On Friday 23rd November, the pupils from 2BN performed their assembly on the theme of loneliness to the school and their parents. They looked at the difference between choosing to be alone and feeling lonely when it’s not by choice. The assembly highlighted ways to help those who feel sad and lonely.

Year 1's Exciting Visit From 'The Lookout'

Weston Green’s Book Fair Success

Earlier this month 'The Lookout' from Bracknell visited Weston Green School and pupils were excited to have the opportunity to learn about the different planets and to find out facts and information about the solar system. The pupils experienced going inside a mobile planetarium, where the stars, moon and planets were projected all around them. The pupils from Years 1 and 2 have shared what they enjoyed most about the visit.

Weston Green was delighted with the response to their Book Fair which was held on Wednesday 14th November. A considerable number of books were bought which will hopefully provide their readers with many hours of pleasure.

Thanks to the support of the children and parents, the Book Fair raised £306.71 in commission, a quite excellent amount!
