Exciting Developments:
Our New Music Studio & Practice Rooms

Over the summer holidays the old hall in the main building was transformed into a music studio and the area where the stage was situated has been made into two music practice rooms.

This gives greatly increased scope for the studio to be used for class music and singing lessons, choir practices and drama lessons.

Future Schools
Event

The pupils in Year 5 have been learning about the Japanese artist Hokusai, and looking in particular at his famous painting 'The Hollow of the Deep Sea Wave'. They were keen to get into the art room and begin experimenting with colour mixing for the different shades of blue.

On Thursday 4th October, Weston Green held its first Future Schools Event which provided parents with an opportunity to talk to representatives from seven local selective independent schools to learn more about the schools that will be available to their children from Year 7 onwards.

Come and See the Year 2 Herb Garden

KS1 and KS2 pupils were treated to an assembly with a difference recently when they were visited by Ashley, Danny and Dan from the Academy of Contemporary Music who encouraged the children to get up, clap and dance as you can see in the video.

Year 2 have planted a herb garden.

We chose strong herbs like rosemary and thyme in the hope that they will survive the cold winter months.

Note Message from Mrs Silver
It has been a pleasure to welcome all parents this week to the Parent/Teacher Meetings. For the first time appointments have been scheduled by the office enabling those parents with more than one child in the school to talk to all the relevant teachers on one evening within a reasonable time span.

We are now inviting prospective parents the opportunity to secure places for September 2013 entry. May I remind you that any siblings eligible for entry in September 2014 should now be registered without delay. Thank you.

In order to minimise inconvenience, Alleycatz, our uniform supplier, has advised that their shop will be closed for their annual stocktake on Thursday 18th & Friday 19th October.

On Tuesday and Wednesday next week the pupils in the E.Y.F.S. department will present the harvest celebration to their parents. This is followed on the last day of this half term by the pupils in KS1 and 2 taking part in their harvest service at All Saints Church to which parents are invited.

Please note school closes for all pupils at 3.15 on Wednesday 24th October, prior to the half term break.
