Year 4's Moving Remembrance Day Assembly

Weston Green School marked this year's Remembrance Day with an Assembly led by Class 4D. Pupils and staff gathered together to remember all those men and women who were killed during the two World Wars and in other wars and conflicts around the world, right up to the present day.The pupils in Year 4 had been learning about the origins of Remembrance Day.

An Exciting Term of ICT
For Year 5

The Year 1 children recently took Barnaby Bear for a walk in the local environment to see what was nice and what they would like to change. They walked to the Common and found that it was a safe place to be in. They thought that they would like to see some benches to sit on.

Year 5 have been very busy in ICT this term. They have been focusing on data handling and have worked on branching databases using a new program called 'flexitree.' The children thought of their own topics and had to come up with suitable questions that would generate a yes/no answer.

On a crisp, sunny day in October, pupils from Year 2 (and Benjamin in Reception) took part in an 11 km walk circuit from Giggs Hill Green via Kingston and Hampton Court Palace. The walk was quite a feat and the furthest distance many children had ever walked.

The children in Kindergarten have been enjoying learning about animals on the farm. They have played games matching baby animals to their mothers and made tractors out of shapes. They have also learned songs and poems which they entertained parents with at their recent Harvest celebration.
