Kindergarten & Reception Enjoy
Special Animal Event
Reception Look Forward to a
Summer Holiday

The children from Kindergarten and Reception recently attended a special event at Weston Green where they encountered a wide variety of exotic animals.

Charles from Impeyan Productions introduced his captive audience to a variety of birds, amphibians, invertebrates, mammals and reptiles and provided insightful facts about each animal as they were brought out from behind ‘the rainforest’.

The children in Reception (RG) have been writing holiday postcards to their friends and families. To inspire them, the children enjoyed listening to Cliff Richard’s ‘Summer Holiday’, with some holiday images on the interactive whiteboard.

Watch a video of the children swaying and clapping to ‘Summer Holiday’ by Cliff Richard.

'Memories Are Made of This' End of Year Performance

School Council Get Involved in the Local Environment

The whole Weston Green School community came together at the end of term for the children’s end of year show which proved to be a toe-tapping, light-hearted, sometimes serious and at times very moving celebration of the last 27 years - the length of time Mrs Harvey has been at the school.

The children looked at events both within Weston Green and the wider world over this period.

It’s been a very busy year for the School Council - what with helping to choose a new head teacher, organising the crazy hat day, buying new playground equipment, building a stag beetle home, and responding to some of the requests of their classmates - they have certainly made a difference to life at WGS.

As part of their mission to get involved in their local environment, and as an end of year ‘thank you’ treat, Mrs Hawkins organised a trip to West End Common, to go pond dipping and Himalayan Balsam pulling.
