It has been an unusual week in school without our most senior pupils who are enjoying a degree of sunshine down in Dorset. It is obvious they are enjoying the most wonderful time from a number of photos sent back to the office by Mrs. Hawkins. It is suggested parents of these pupils organise a quiet weekend as we anticipate the return of happy but exhausted children this afternoon!
At the same time pupils in Year 3 and 4 will be playing the first cricket match of the season against pupils from Denmead School – thanks to Mrs. Morrod for offering to supervise the match teas.
On Monday (20th) we have our rearranged e-safety day in school for the pupils which is followed by a parents workshop at 6 p.m.
Wednesday June 5th is World Environment Day and in conjuction with Brookwood Catering our assemblies that week will detail what the day means, how the catering team propose to mark it with the Brookwood policy of “Planet Matters” and how the pupils can be involved.
On Wednesday afternoon (22nd) we have this term’s instrumental concert with invited pupils from KS1 and KS2 showing what they have learned in their individual weekly music lessons.
Half term ends (already?) with the annual mini marathon on Friday which this year is raising funds for Mind and Winston’s Wish. The little ones in EYFS will run around the field starting at 9.15 and KS1 pupils will participate at 2.30 p.m. Please do come and support them – it is one of the highlights of the annual calendar. Thanks go to the Parents Association for providing bottles of water at this event.
Key Stage 2 pupils will not participate this year but will demonstrate their endurance running in the 1500 metres on Sports Day.
Enjoy the half term break when it comes!
