Alumni Guest Blog:
Seth Lau

Seth Lau, who attended Norfolk House until 2012, has shared a blog about what he has been doing since leaving the school and how his time at Norfolk House prepared him for the move to his next school:

"I really enjoyed my years in Norfolk House and I am sure that most former pupils also agree that the school gave us a lot of skills and opportunities ready for the future."

Forms 3 & 4 Impress Parents with  Creative Curriculum Event

Read a recount by Annabel about Year 6's visit to the RAF Museum:

"On a sunny Thursday morning, Form 6 set out to RAF museum. We saw huge planes, real uniforms used by real members of the RAF museum and we were filled full of factual knowledge. We started our trip arriving at a WWII home scene..."

Once again the Creative Curriculum event was a huge success. We were delighted with performances from Forms 3 and 4 children in yoga, street dance and various musical items. We are thrilled at the talent of our students and incredibly grateful to the wonderful teachers and instructors who have put in the time and effort to ensure our children are able to share their wonderful talents. Thank you very much to all parents who attended.

Fantastic Football Efforts!

Writer’s Corner:
Reception Create their own Circus Books

The school football teams played King Alfred school at power league.  The A team won a thrilling match 5-4. They passed the ball very well and scored some great team goals.

The B team lost 9-4 against a very strong side. They never gave up and continued to play good football throughout.

The under 9s team narrowly lost 3-2. As it was some of the boys’ first match for the school it was a great effort and they were very unlucky to lose the game.

Well done to all the teams and a special thank you to all the parents who came along to support the boys.

In Reception, our planning is lead very much by the children’s interests and our current work in our English lessons is no exception. After one of their recent weekly story writing sessions with Ms. Habgood, where the children are working together to write the words to Quentin Blake’s ‘Clown’, the children watched a lovely clip of Quentin Blake planning and laying out the book. Immediately afterwards the children were working on the floor, creating their own books.

Find out how Reception has been creating their own books in response to their Circus topic.
