Uma Suri

"I'm Uma Suri and I was at Norfolk House for seven years, from Reception to Year 6. Now, I am in Year 8 at South Hampstead which, although it is several times bigger than Norfolk House, has a similarly relaxed, cozy mood in classrooms. Another thing the two schools share is an amazing ability to digress in lessons! ..."

"This fortnight has whizzed by, with so much going on yet again both in and out of school!..."

Mrs. Crawford joined the Norfolk House team in September as Reception teacher and has enjoyed exploring the possibilities of what teaching and learning can be.

Reception to KS1 Enjoy Perform Drama Workshop

This half term, Form 5 have been consolidating their story writing skills, working on improving language, sentence structure and plot development. We used a fantastic animation called ‘The Catch’ found on The Literacy Shed website as the stimulus for our lessons.

Watch a video showing how writing was developed through this activity and read Kaya’s story, The Catch.

Reception class and the children in Key Stage 1 enjoyed a fabulous session with the Perform Drama Group earlier this week. The instructor introduced a story called The Pearl Of The Ocean and the children created their own movements in response to the narration. Initially, the children were asked to imagine they were swimming under the sea, then they talked about what creatures they might encounter. Their adventure began!

Forms 4 & 5 Attend Production of ‘The Pied Piper of Hamlin’

Form 4 had a fabulous trip to PGL. They took part in some excellent outdoor pursuit activities and really challenged themselves. The children worked well as a team and had a wonderful time. They ate lots of lovely food and enjoyed sleeping (or not!) in the shared bedrooms. One of the highlights was definitely buying sweets in the shop. A great time was had by all.

See photos and video from Form 4's residential trip.

On Wednesday 21 May, Form 4 and 5 students were invited to attend a performance of The Pied Piper of Hamlin at Queenswood school. The children thoroughly enjoyed the afternoon and were dazzled by an excellent performance put on by the lower school students of Queenswood.
