‘My Experience at Norfolk House’

Sophia L-S attended Norfolk House from 2005 - 2012 and currently attends Belmont. She has shared with us her memories from her time at Norfolk House and how her time at the school has helped to shape who she is now and prepare her for taking the next steps to achieve her hopes for the future.

"I always have a feeling of pride and happiness when remembering my time at Norfolk House..."

Our international evening will be taking place at Norfolk House on Wednesday 12 March, from 5:30 - 7pm. Pupils and parents are invited to come along to sample a variety of international foods and wear international dress. We already have three music acts confirmed for the evening, which looks set to be an exciting event. As a Norfolk House debut, we will be Live Tweeting from the event! Follow us on Twitter to get photos, updates and news live from this unique event as it happens.

Form 6 has been busy this term! See examples of their work and watch videos of the children demonstrating what they have been learning in the following topics:
  • History: World War 2
  • Maths: Definitions of Maths Concepts
  • PSHE: The Big Question
Pupils in Form 5 have been using a variety of innovative apps across their lessons. In preparation for the upcoming International Evening, they have used an app called Superimpose to create images of themselves superimposed into pictures of landmarks from around the world.

Watch a video of Form 5 pupils demonstrating how they have used the Superimpose app.

The pupils of Forms 3C and 3S enjoyed an exciting visit to the Science Museum recently. They have collaborated to create a recount of their trip:

"On Tuesday 25th February, Form 3 went to the Science Museum in South Kensington, London. We went there hoping to learn about Science in the past and in the future..."

The children in each of the PrePrep classes worked together in groups to create beginnings, middles and ends to their Sleeping Beauty stories. Next, they collaborated to create class stories.

Read the Sleeping Beauty stories which have been created by PPG and PPP.

We have updated our Pupils’ Work page to provide you with an insight into just some of the innovative, exciting activities which have been happening in our classrooms. New work includes:
  • Form 2’s hot-seating video interviews with ‘Roman Gladiators’
  • Form 4’s St Lucia tourist website
  • A poem by a pupil from Form 3C
In an effort to ensure that we offer After School Clubs/Care that suit our families, we would ask that you take a few moments to complete a short questionnaire, here.

The questionnaire has been extended until Friday 7 March 2014. It is important that you have your say and help us in ensuring our after school provision is effective.

Message from the office
Petition to Improve Safety of Junction at Colney Hatch Lane
Local residents who are campaigning to improve the junction at the end of Alexandra Park Road to make it safer have thanked Norfolk House parents for their support in helping to exceed the 500 signatures required to add weight to their petition. With this support, the group have now had a productive site meeting with Haringey Council.

Given that it is a route used by some of our pupils, we felt this was particularly important. Thanks so much to all of you who signed the petition.
