Skippers Hill Preparatory School 4 April 2014
Work commences on Outdoor Willow Walk

Work has recently started on a new ‘Outdoor Woodland Project’ at Skippers, as part of our two year development plan.

Making the most of the school’s stunning 22 acre setting, a section of land is being transformed into a child-friendly play and learning zone that can be used by children from Kindergarten to Year 8.

Form of the Fortnight: Year 4
Kindergarten Blog: Springtime and growth

Year 4 pupils have been sharing some of their recent work in Science, Art and French, in which they receive specialist teaching.

Watch videos of Year 4 in action.

Suddenly the weather is smiling on us! The rain seems a very distant memory already.

Our topic at the moment is ‘Springtime and growth’. We have been exploring the grounds and woodland, and looking for signs of spring.

Years 3 and 4 proudly perform Jonah
Success for Livingstone in House Drama Competition

On 25th May, children in Years 3 and 4 performed their adaptation of ‘Jonah’ to the rest of the school, followed by parents and families.

Watch a short video of their performance and read some of the pupils' reflections on the show.

On Monday afternoon, we were treated to the House Drama Competition. Each House had to use all members from Year 4 - Year 8 and perform two items.

The first was a mime on the theme of a proverb.

Mothers v. Daughters Netball Match
Strong performances in U13 Boys' Hockey Tournament

On 25th March, the U13 and U11/U12 Netball teams took part in the Mothers v. Daughters Netball Match, which has been an annual event at Skippers for nearly 30 years.

We welcomed 10 mums to the courts and played two matches.

On Friday 21st March, Skippers entered a team into the newly instituted East Grinstead Hockey Academy's U13 Boys Schools Tournament.

16 Preparatory Schools and Junior Dept of Senior Schools entered from across the Southeast; Kent, Surrey and Sussex.

Gym Club Competition
Thank you from the Children's Respite Trust

Gym Club members recently took part in competitions, performing their own floor routines that they have been practicing.

Every member of the Gym Club learns a set floor routine with a set vault.

Pupils were proud to receive a letter of thanks from the Children's Respite Trust, following our recent donation of £330, raised from our Christmas carol concert.
