ELAN's 12th Annual General Meeting took place on Tuesday (August 30th) at the MAI Café, 3680 rue Jeanne-Mance.
ELAN's executive consists of: president, Bettina Forget (Visual Arts), vice-president, Valerie Buddle (Dance), treasurer, Kristelle Holliday (Regions); and secretary, Karen Cho (Film/Video). Newly elected board members are: Valerie Buddle (Dance), Fortner Anderson and Karen Cho (Film/Video), Rob Lutes (Music), Dan Webster (Presenting Organisations), Kristelle Holliday (Regions), Warona Setshwaelo (Theatre), Deborah Forde (Theatre: QDF), Khosro Berahmandi (Visual Arts), and Jeramy Dodds (Writing/Publishing: QWF).
Continuing board members are: Farah Fancy (Corporate), Louise Campbell (Music), Kalina Skulska (Regions), Bettina Forget (Visual Arts), and Paul Bracegirdle (Writing/Publishing), and Keith Henderson (Writing/Publishing: AELAQ).
After months of working with Parker Mah and Spencer Mann at COCo's Commun-IT Program, ELAN is happy to present a brand new website! Along with our 2016 Communications Assistant Erika LeBlanc, the COCo team brought our dreams to life with a new website with improved usability, new features, a great new look, and a fresh logo and visual identity designed by Gabriel Jasmin (AKA Studio Monument).

HUDSON – QUÉBEC CITY – HUNTINGDON – KNOWLTON – WAKEFIELD – WEST ISLAND
For the second year, ELAN is helping to empower 6 English-speaking regions to build their own mini-festivals celebrating vibrant arts communities in Québec. Between July and September 2016, Hudson, Québec City, Montreal's West Island, Knowlton, Huntingdon, and Wakefield will host 1-3 day celebrations of Québec arts and culture.
September 9th-11th, Wakefield: Theatre Wakefield presents Ta Da! Arts Alive! Québec, taking place at Centre Wakefield La Peche. Featuring local and visiting artists such as Entrelacs, LAVINIA, The Paperback Queen, Love With Leila, The Auden Test, How Often Do I Dream …, and much more! September 24th, West Island: A full day of family fun located in the West Island community of Pointe Claire, at John Rennie Highschool, featuring kid-friendly activities and a concert from Vintage Wine. Join us for an evening at the Mainline Gallery where artists and arts lovers of all disciplines and backgrounds will have the opportunity to converse, connect, and take in a preview of what’s on in the theatre world this fall!
ELAN’s Schmoozer will begin at 5:30pm. Refreshments will be served and folks from across artistic communities will have the chance to meet and mingle!

This 4-hour afternoon session is a comprehensive, interactive workshop, designed to guide you or your organization to formulate clear, concise and compelling grants to maximize your chances of success.
Learn how to structure and write a grant that will present your artistic project in the strongest light to potential funders. Clarify the articulation of your artistic vision, find out about available resources, and participate in hands-on exercises using your own project/goal.
