"The new series of works included in this group show, Stranger, came about while walking in the Valencian Province city of Elche, a Unesco World Heritage site (with the biggest palm grove in Europe - over 200,000 palm trees, around one for each of the cities inhabitants)
Attention was drawn by an open gate towards a structure in the middle of the palm grove when all these pictures of 'strangers' were found scattered around the ground. Returning to the scene at dusk several of the pictures were collected. A series of these images were selected, which looked like holiday photographs of London.
These images of historic landmarks and monuments were collaged, re-fixed, with images of modernist and contemporary architecture, reflecting on layers of time and memory, how both places and others can seem strange to us, whether encountered for the first time or through the inevitability of change and redevelopment."

New materials were gathered from city-spatial studies of Singapore to utilise in other projects. The new image-object works above, City Layers (Interlaced I), stemmed from these studies.
Stopping in Dubai on the return journey and viewing the high perspective urban structures formed the setting for a series of new blue light works, also the opportunity to visit Salsali PM and Carbon12 in the Alserkal Avenue arts district.
