The month ahead with Twick Mums

NCT Family Expo  ––  Match Up Mums
Half Term Camps & Workshops

We hope you all had a great September, and are enjoying the early signs of autumn! This month's highlights from Twick Mums include a few dates for the diary with the NCT's Family Expo and Happy Potter's October events, as well as a new service for the area called Match Up Mums, who bring like-minded local mums and mums-to-be together.

In case you missed them, we also wanted to highlight some of the new articles we've added in the last month: flexible childcare with Like Minders, a range of pilates classes with Nicola Howarth, female-focused personal training with 121 Fitness & Health, family-friendly dining at Brouge at The Old Goat, fun tuition centres Explore Learning, and details of local breastfeeding support drop-ins.

We're also hard at work on a directory of all the camps and workshops that are taking place over the October half-term, so look out for that coming out soon! If you have any feedback on anything, please do get in touch at We're always very happy to hear from you!

NCT's Family Expo

The NCT is holding a Family Expo from 10.30am-1.30pm on the 11th October at York House in Twickenham. It promises to be an unmissable event, with all your pregnancy, baby and toddler needs under one roof, with over 30 exhibitors including complementary therapists, baby and toddler activities and services, photographers, and toys, as well as free taster sessions, a raffle, kids lunch boxes, and yummy refreshments! You can find out more, including ticket information, on Twick Mums.

Match Up Mums

Match Up Mums is a new 'dating' service for mums and mums-to-be in the area, which puts like-minded friendship groups together based on their profiles. It uses a clever system based on postcode, due date or age of children, attitudes, hobbies, interests, and more. Once a group is formed, Match Up Mums organises the first meeting, which usually takes place in a local cafe or park, and then it's up to you. It's very relaxed and informal, and not as daunting as it sounds! To find out more, have a read on Twick Mums.

If you haven't checked our membership and offers page recently, now is a great time to take a look. We've got new offers from 121 Fitness & Heath, Mayoral Clothing and Wonderfully Worn, plus lots of favourites like The Mobile Massage Therapist.
Some offers are open to all, some are for members only – it's quick and easy to apply for your FREE membership, so if you haven't already joined we hope to see you very soon.

A big local issue over the last month has been Heathrow's easterly departure route trials. Residents in the area, particularly in Teddington, have been up in arms about the increased noise levels and the fact they weren't pre-warned about the trials. For the latest information check Teddington Town's website, and you can also email Heathrow to register complaints (include your name, address, postcode and phone number).

Happy Potter has got lots coming up in October. On the 18th they celebrate their 4th birthday with FREE studio fees, cake and party bags all day, and from the 27th-30th they'll be holding Halloween themed workshops. On the 31st their celebrations culminate with a big Halloween party, with hat making, face painting, pottery and cupcake decorating, cocktails and a spooky buffet! For full details, take a look at their October flyer.
