Our 2017-18 mental health figures released

Coinciding with World Mental Health Day, we released statistics which highlighted the increasing need for mental health support in Southampton. In 2017-2018, No Limits supported 2,876 children and young people with their mental health, an 82% increase from the previous year.

The staggering increase in the number of young people we are seeing is partly down to the new Primary Mental Health project which is picking up young people who might otherwise have been unsupported, but also through better awareness of mental health issues and of our services. Our new Primary Mental Health service ensures that young people aged 11-18 who are experiencing anxiety, self-harm, suicidal thoughts, and low mood are supported with solution focused intervention to minimise the negative impact.

Young Carers sail away into the sunset

Last month, 7 of our Young Adult Carers earned a Weaver Bird Award for completing a 5 day sailing voyage with the Rona Sailing Project, which provided them with respite from their caring role and the opportunity to develop and maintain positive support networks. The opportunity enabled the young people to enhance their sense of responsibility, resourcefulness and teamwork, which will help them throughout their lives. Thank you to the Rona Sailing Project for your generous donation to help fund the fun-filled day out!

Rock Star Awards to support No Limits!

We're really excited to have been selected as one of two charity beneficiaries for Rock Recruitment’s annual Rock Star Awards, the other being AIM Community in Bournemouth. Rock Recruitment launched the awards back in 2012 to celebrate and reward the achievements of skilled and enthusiastic young people aged 16-26. Angela Piromalli, CEO and Founder of Rock Recruitment and The Rock Star Awards says,

“It was a really easy choice for us to pick No Limits as our Hampshire based charitable partner this year. Our values just fitted perfectly together in our mission to support and encourage young people from often disadvantaged backgrounds. We cannot wait to work with them and hopefully be able to raise them lots of money to keep on supporting young people across Hampshire.”

If you, your business, or the company your work for would like to support No Limits in 2019, we’d love to hear from you! Contact fundraising@nolimitshelp.org.uk or phone: 02380 224 224

Can you help?

Our Young Carers in Southampton group are hoping to have a Christmas meal together, which would be a great opportunity for them to enjoy the Christmas festivities without their caring responsibilities. We’re looking for donations in order to make this happen. A donation of £10 would pay for a meal for one young person, if you would like to help support this, click the donate button below:
