A message from our new CEO, Natalie Webb

I joined No Limits back in January for an extended handover and it has been wonderful to work alongside Annabel and the rest of the team at No Limits in the last few weeks. I’m sure you will all want to join me in thanking Annabel for her incredible work and dedication over the last 25 years at No Limits. The whole organisation and all that we deliver is a legacy to her belief in children and young people.

I feel so privileged to be leading the next phase of the No Limits journey and I’m really excited for Wednesday when I officially become CEO.  Reflecting particularly on the last two weeks I am proud to be working with a team of dedicated and passionate staff who have such an unwavering focus on meeting the needs of children and young people. Whilst Covid-19 definitely wasn’t on the initial handover plan, I am looking forward to leading No Limits through this to a time when we can look back and celebrate our resilience.

We are continuing to support children and young people across Southampton through phone, email, web chat and video calls, as well as face-to-face support in the University Hospital Southampton’s Emergency Department and specialist mental health support from our Primary Mental Health workers. We’re living in an unsettling time of uncertainty but we’re doing everything we can to ensure young people feel as supported as possible and that no child or young person feels alone, or unable to talk to someone.

Service Update

Here at No Limits, we've been following the government's guidelines and we have made the decision to suspend our face-to-face services, which has included making the difficult decision to close the No Limits Advice Centre.

We are, however, continuing to support children and young people in need by phone, email, web chat and in the Emergency Department during our normal Advice Centre opening times.

Please do keep checking our social media pages and our website for the latest updates to our services and we're looking forward to opening our Advice Centre when we can!

Teen pregnancies fall by a 1/3 in Southampton

The rate of pregnancies for young people under the age of 18 in Southampton has substantially declined by a third over the past year. We’re really proud to have worked in partnership with Southampton City Council and Solent NHS Trust by supporting young people in schools across the City and through our Advice Centre to give young people access to free contraception, as well as empowering young people to make informed decisions about their relationships and choices about sex.

Thank you!

This month Katie*, a young person who has been supported by No Limits, decided to give something back and raise money for us in lieu of birthday gifts; she managed to raise almost £200 for us!
We’re so grateful for all the support during this time and if you’re thinking about supporting your local community (but at a distance) during this difficult time, then there’s so many ways you can get behind No Limits! You could create a Facebook Fundraiser, make the most of your daily exercise allowance by training for a sponsored challenge event or you could help to spread the word about our support for young people by sharing our posts on social media. There’s something for everyone and in doing so you can do your bit to help young people like Katie:

"No Limits helped me stay alive, they helped me feel genuinely supported, and they helped me get funding that in turn changed my life. Amazing charity, amazing people and amazing things they do."

*The young person’s name has been anonymised for confidentiality purposes.

Events Update

Unfortunately, all upcoming No Limits events have been cancelled for the next few months, including the Youth Ambassadors’ Market Place Event and the No Limits open morning for professionals.

However, the ABP Southampton 10K, Half Marathon and Marathon event have been postponed until Sunday 21st June 2020 and we’d love to still encourage you to sign up if you’re looking for a challenge! We’re also offering running spaces for the Great South Run and Walk the Test Way

Please keep an eye on our social media channels and the No Limits website for any further updates.
