No Limits awarded with funding to support lonely young people in Southampton

We're so excited to be 1 of 16 charities who have been awarded with funding from the Co-op Foundation, Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport and the National Lottery Community Fund to tackle youth loneliness amongst vulnerable young people in Southampton as part of the #iwill fund.

The new project is expected to support over 200 young people who suffer high levels of loneliness as a result of complex issues in their lives.

Annabel Hodgson, CEO at No Limits, said: “This is an exciting new project which tackles head on the rising problem of loneliness among young people. By inviting young people to take part in social action – be it fundraising, campaigning or volunteering – we are empowering them to make a change for themselves and others. I look forward to seeing how the young people grow in confidence as they take part in these activities.”

Young Carers awareness day

Today is Young Carers Awareness Day, a day which is dedicated to raising awareness of young people and their caring responsbilities. Here at No Limits we see the impacts that caring can have on young people's emotional health and well-being, which is why we provide a safe space for young carers to come together and share their stories, gain help from their peers and gain timely support for their mental health when needed through our Young Carers in Southampton project.

We would love you to help us to raise awareness of mental health among young carers by following the #CareForMeToo campaign on social media.

Building brighter futures

We support children and young people with a wide range of vulnerabilities, using different techniques to support them in a way that is comfortable for them. We recently supported a young person who finds it difficult to open up, and to help her through this, we encouraged her to use 'No Limits Building Blocks' so that she could play with something whilst she spoke about her feelings.

Time to talk

The new counselling rooms and waiting area at our head office have been transformed with new furnishings that help to create a calm, relaxing space for our young people to be supported through counselling. Thank you to The Percy Bilton Charity for donating towards the refurbishment.
