New youth mental health service on the Isle of Wight

We’re excited to announce that we’ve been awarded with funding from the Isle of Wight CCG to deliver a new support service for young people aged 11-17 who need immediate access to emotional and practical support with their mental health.

The pilot project, Space 4U, will provide two weekly open-access drop-in sessions for young people to access support with their emotional health in a safe and supportive environment.

The sessions will run every Monday and Wednesday evening from 6-8:30pm. To find out more, phone 02380 224 224 or email enquiries@nolimitshelp.org.uk.

World Mental Health Day

It was great to be at Cantell School for the World Mental Health Day event run by CAMHS West and Saints Foundation this month. We had four stands with games covering everything and anything about mental health, including an online safety game, a mental health wheel of fortune, make your own mental health origami fortune tellers, a comfort box, as well as a healthy living quiz linking to spotting the signs and symptoms of cancer.

The students, who attended the event from schools across Southampton, also wrote messages of support about what mental health means to them.

Mood Jars

Our Primary Mental Health Workers have been supporting young people with their mental health through mood jars.

The young people used salt and chalk to help them visualise their emotions, using the jar as a tool to help aid discussion about their feelings with family or someone they feel able to talk to.

Here's some feedback from the young people:
"This has helped me visualise what happens to me the most"
"This makes it easier for me to understand and visualise my emotions which will help me explain them to my family"

Fundraising Success

We’ve had some fantastic supporters raising money for us over the past couple of months who have collectively raised an incredible £6,328.35 for No Limits!

Parkewood School of Dance held a dance show, one of our trustees ran a half marathon, Sienna Construction ran 10K, Sallie did a spin, Fiona, Glenda and Wen held a Swish event and Mayfield Bowling Club supported us as their charity of the year throughout the bowling season. We’re so grateful for your support!

If you’d like to find out how you can start your own fundraising event or challenge, we'd love you to get in touch!

Christmas Card Campaign

Last Christmas, the public sent an estimated 900 million Christmas cards, spending a staggering £230 million.

This Christmas, why not help to save the environment and support vulnerable and disadvantaged children and young people in need by making a donation to No Limits in lieu of sending festive cards?

The average person will spend £30 on Christmas cards, which could instead help to pay for an emergency pack containing a sleeping bag, warm clothes, everyday essentials and Christmas treats for a young person who is street homeless or sofa surfing, as well as a Christmas meal for a young person at our Advice Centre.

Everyone who makes a donation to our Christmas card campaign, however big or small, can receive a festive e-thank you from us for you to send to your family and friends.
