"What makes yogis look so young? They're shining with the light of Consciousness."
A conversation with me, myself & I for you:
Q: So what is Consciousness?
... Consciousness is ever-young..."
from the contemplation article 'Forever Young' by Swami Nirmalananda and Rukmini
Hi Yoga Friends.
A: Yoga teaches that Consciousness is the infinite, eternal, ever-present, always-has-been: always-will-be, essence of the Self.
Consciousness manifests everything that exists (and that which doesn't exist too!)
Consciousness is energy that moves and flows. Everything vibrates with the bliss of consciousness.
YOU are a creation of this consciousness. You are pure consciousness in a unique and individualised form.
In fact, everyone and everything is PURE CONSCIOUSNESS.
In short, consciousness is everything.
Q: Great. Where can I get it?
A: Right here! We are fortunately blessed in this tradition to have a wonderful lineage of teachers that model and mirror the Self.
They are radiant with the bliss of Consciousness.
They continually live with this Self-knowingness even while doing the most mundane things.
In fact, we already are That, but we don't always experience this Self-knowingness all the time.
Q: How do I begin to base myself in this knowingess continually then?
A: We are lucky enough to have an amazing practice called Svaroopa(R)
yoga, which you will have experienced is a different approach to yoga and the body.
A different approach for a different effect, you could say.
The physical practice will realign your spine and clear your mind, which you would have experienced is wonderful, but you know something more is at work.
It's an indescribable but undeniable force called Grace. This Grace flows through the lineage of teachers.
My teacher, Swami Nirmalananda Saraswati, (formerly known as Rama Berch who originated Svaroopa(R)
yoga) describes your spine as the conduit of Consciousness.
She developed through her own experiences a unique process of opening and clearing your spine and mind, which eventually showers you in the light of Consciousness from top to tail; and then from tail back to top. She generously continues to share and emanate this knowledge of how to experience the Self or Consciousness with us. Just being in her presence or the presence of an enlightened being helps this state to arise.
Swamiji's teachers before her had also immersed themselves in yoga's practices and were based in this All Knowing experience.
The power of Grace flows through the generations, from teacher to student. It is called the paramparaa,
From what my teachers taught me, and my teacher's teachers taught them .... I am able to share a taste of it with you, plant a seed, to inspire you (hopefully) to explore your own potential, while at the same time I continue my own journey of healing, transformation and illumination.
By practicing Svaroopa
yoga you begin to tap into that source of light to let your Self shine brightly from within.
That's the experience of Consciousness!
This knowledge is the greatest gift to give someone, and the greatest gift to receive.
And as Swamiji would say "Do more yoga."!

It’s a safe, gentle, amazingly effective, hands-on therapeutic technique based on the principles of Svaroopa® yoga.
This gentle style of yoga emphasises releasing tension from the body – starting at the tailbone and progressing up the spine.
This approach is called ‘core opening’ or ‘core release’.
The release of these deep tensions in the body promotes a process of healing and transformation: relieving many painful physical conditions; improving overall body function and general health; as well as leaving you feeling blissfully relaxed and wonderfully rejuvenated.
Receiving one Embodyment(R) Yoga Therapy session is equivalent in therapeutic effect as having attended at least 5 or 6 Svaroopa(R) yoga classes.
