 Informational Meeting

(FCDOT) will host a community meeting on the Georgetown Pike Trail project, Wednesday, March 22, 2017, at 7-9 p.m., in the Large Meeting Room at Great Falls Library, 9830 Georgetown Pike, Great Falls 7-9 p.m.

They will discuss the next two phases of the trail between Falls Chase Court and Falls Bridge Lane and between Falls Bridge Lane and Seneca Road. Please try to come and hear the latest plans!

At our March 13 meeting, updates were presented concerning the Brooks Farm property: the Board met with Mark Fields to discuss the proposed trail within the development; further discussion will take place in early June but this preliminary meeting pedestrian and equestrian use was proposed. Part of the trail will be paved, but it will be wide enough to allow natural surface use for horses.

Trailblazers will have an informational table at the upcoming Turner Farm Events Fun Show on Sunday, April 23(to raise money for a mounting ramp so that therapeutic riding programs can participate in future shows). We will be promoting our July 4th 5K run and preregistration information will be available.

The Trailblazers sent a letter in support of a pedestrian crossing from the Great Falls Professional Center (corner of Walker and Georgetown Pike) to the Safeway Center.

KUDOS AND THANKS to Dina and Julian Bergstrom for the pre-spring clean-up of the Lucy Hanes trail, Miller-Goldman, Windermere and Tralee trails!!! Over 31 hours were spent sprucing up these trails--WOW!!!!
