Survey on Transportation Projects
Vote for Projects Effecting our Community
Fairfax County is seeking your input on where $1.2 Billion in transportation funding should be spent. Several of the 214 projects directly impact Great Falls. The survey breaks the projects down into five categories. You can vote for 3 Interchanges (Projects 1-11); 3 Road Extensions (Projects 12-19); 3 Road Spot Improvements (20-42); 3 Roadway Widenings (43-74); 3 Public Transit (Projects 75-85); and 5 Pedestrian/Bicycle Projects (86-214).
Please look at the project descriptions and vote for your preferred projects. Great Falls Trail Blazers is advocating for several Pedestrian/Bicycle projects in our area. (NOTE: You can choose only 5 in the survey.)
#125 GEORGETOWN PIKE WALKWAY (PHASE IV)
This project will complete trail along Georgetown Pike between
Utterback Store Road to Seneca Road. It will connect to new trail along Route 7 providing access to the Fairfax County Parkway Trail.
#193 ARNON CHAPEL ROAD WALKWAY
The construction of stone dust trail along Arnon Chapel will provide pedestrian, bicycle and equestrian access to Riverbend Park and the Village Center.
#194 COLVIN RUN ROADWAY
Stone dust trail along Colvin Run Road will connect the Difficult Run Trail/Cross-County Trail to Walker Road and the trail project under #214.
#210 SPRINGVALE ROAD WALKWAY
Trail along south Springvale Road will provide neighborhoods pedestrian access to Rt. 7 and the Reston trails and Turner Farm.
#214 WALKER ROAD WALKWAY
Along with Project #194, trail along or near Walker Road south of Georgetown Pike will provide neighborhoods non-motorized access to the cross-county trail/Reston, Colvin Run shopping area, Turner Farm and Great Falls Village.
#213 UTTERBACK STORE WALKWAY
Construct walkway on the east side of Utterback Store Road from Forestville Elementary School to Georgetown Pike-and project #125. This trail will connect to the Nike trail that runs between Utterback Store Road and Springvale Road/Turner Farm.
