BHC News May-June

May 31, 2013
Salutations, friends of BHC!

I hope everyone is enjoying the summer weather!

We here at Building Healthy Communities have a lot of exciting things in the works.  For starters, we just awarded 11 new grants to 11 different community organizations!  They're doing fantastic work- from music lessons for children, to community gardens, to enhancing awareness of health issues.  To keep up with their events and activities, follow us on our Facebook page!

Other than that, we've been busy at City Council meetings encouraging the City Council to stand by their promise to invest in youth programs.  Thanks so much to everyone who has supported the young people of our communities!

We are also very pleased to see that the McNamara Pool will be reopening for the year on Thursday, June 13th!  With how hot it's been lately, I'd say it can't happen any sooner!

As always, we'd love to hear your feedback- feel free to send questions, suggestions, etc. to    Even more, however, we'd love to see you- come out to any of our events if you'd like to engage firsthand with the community!
