HISPA 2012 Three Kings Banquet Gala: A Resounding Success

HISPA welcomed 250 guests at this year’s Three Kings Banquet held at the Hilton Woodbridge in Iselin, NJ. The fundraising effort was a resounding success supporting HISPA’s mission to mobilize Latino Professionals to serve as active role models in educational programs within their communities. Evenings like this one are a clear reminder that HISPA is rapidly growing and community support is expanding.

HISPA in the Classrooms Academic Year 2011-12
The HISPA Role Model Program has held 29 sessions at 17 schools, enabling 60 Role Models to present to over 1,300 students.  With many new volunteers this year, a numerous amount of inspirational stories are being shared with students across New Jersey.  Special recognition to all HISPA Role Models that have participated this year. A couple of quotes from our HISPA Role Model Program follow:
-"Can I just say I had one of the most amazing experiences in my life! Can I talk like my 4 year old and say “that was totally wicket!”?" ...thanks so much for the opportunity. I learned a lot today. Those kids totally enriched me." - Sylvia Ledezma from ETS visited Robbins Elementary School this January
- "Dear HISPA, It was a pleasure to have both Dr. Kenneth Sanchez and Mr. Frederick Gomez share their stories with our students. Many students have already expressed their excitement and gratitude for having been able to be part of the role model program. Thank you." - Kimberly Cruz-Garcia Social Studies Teacher, New Brunswick High School.
