Career Planning and Development Workshop For Graduate Researchers and ECRs
The best time to start planning for your future is now!
What do you want to be doing when you graduate?
What skills or experiences will help you get there?
What opportunities are out there?
When is the best time to undertake them?
Developing your own Individual Development Plan will help you to work through all of that. During your graduate research candidature is the perfect time to assess your skills, identify any gaps and set your goals. There are so many resources and opportunities available at Charles Sturt through the Research Training Calendar to support you to achieve your goals and here is one of them!
Career Planning and Development Workshop This interactive workshop will provide you with some great tools. It focuses on participants’ careers - the 10,000 foot view (includes exercises to help participants articulate their desired professional legacy and develop a career plan aligned with this); strategic career building, including developing a cohesive independent research program; building research track record; and a discussion of particular focus areas/needs, which could include prioritising writing; approaching funding; working towards research impact; mentorship; networking and collaborating; ‘service’; and/or work-life balance.
