What's a rally all about? The riders of course! This is part 1 of 2, telling you everything you can do with your bike.
Mark your calendars now, so you don't miss a thing!

So much to do with your bike PART 1

Rides and Runs by the date:
Before the Rally ... check in at Headquarters to pick up a Wharf Rat Run maps. You can visit the wharves at any time, with prize draws taking place on Sunday, so this would be a great ride on Monday or Tuesday before the Rally starts. The more wharves you visit, the better your chances of winning. Presented by Bay Ferries, hosted by the Yarmouth and Acadian Shores Tourism Association.

Wednesday, Sept 2nd
Join Bean're as he rides to the long-term care residences in Bridgetown and Middleton. Enjoy a burger or hot dog at the Heart of the Valley Long Term Care facility in Middleton before heading back. 9:30am at Tim Horton's on Warwick Street.

Thursday, September 3rd
The Clare Poker Run starts on Thursday and runs until Saturday. Pick up your first card and map at Headquarters or the Welcome Centre, or print it yourself in English or in French. The owner of the winning hand gets $500 in lobster, shipped to your home! Every participant receives a Clare souvenir pin.

Also on Thursday, you have the option of joining a guided tour to Bear River, the tidal village on stilts. Called the Forks and Corks tour, you'll be given a tour of the Annapolis Highlands Vineyard and given opportunity to explore the fine artisan wares at the shops in Bear River. After lunch, you can carry on as a group or continue to explore the rolling hills of the countryside on your own. (Participants are responsible for their own lunch costs.) Meet at Headquarters at 10:30.

Friday, September 4th
Join Bean're at 10:30am at the Tim Hortons on Warwick Street for the short ride to Tideview Terrace Nursing Home in Digby. When they can't come to the Rally, we take the Rally to them! Then follow Bean're to the hospital to show off your bikes to the patients there.

*** Remember you can take part in the Clare Poker Run and the Wharf Rat Run many of these days, and you don't have to complete either of them all at once!

Saturday, September 5th
Our third annual Canadian Army Veterans' Ride to the Afghanistan Memorial will have registration on Saturday starting at 10am in front of the Walmart, right off exit 26. Kickstands are up at 11.
Please read the story and pre-register here so we have an idea how many bikes will be joining in the ride. Why not finish  your Clare Poker Run on the way back?

Sunday, September 6th
Enjoy the scenic ride to Brier Island as part of a guided tour starting at 1pm at the Digby Arena on Shreve Street.Maximum number of participants is 20; Wharf Rat Rally will provide the ferry tickets.

Just go for a ride!
There are maps of Southwest Nova Scotia at Headquarters and the Welcome Centre (they're from 2014, but only the advertising has changed), or check out this app from the Southwest Nova Biosphere Reserve Association where you can highlight beaches, cultural experiences, outdoor opportunities and lighthouses and then choose your own route!

Remember: you can stop in at the Old Orchard Inn at any time now to pick up your registration package. Please have your $10 in cash.

You can also get one at the Capitol Pub in Middleton or at the Annapolis Leather Barn outside Annapolis Royal. Again, please have cash.

Remember: check off only one prize choice: either the Ultimate Sturgis trip or the Honda Grom, and return the ballot to the seller.

Or stop into Headquarters - the packages are there now also. We can take cash, debit, Visa or Mastercard at HQ.

Once you have your package, you won't have to stop in at the registration tent on Warwick Street. Cool, eh?

We're happy to confirm the Twisted Tea Tent will be in the parking lot of Guy's Frenchy's. Thank you, Guy, for your great community support!
