Hello my loves,
When spiritual teachers talk about the "big picture," they are generally referring to a larger, overarching perspective on life that encompasses all aspects of reality. This includes the physical world, as well as the spiritual or metaphysical dimensions.
The big picture is often seen as a way to gain a broader understanding of the purpose and meaning of life, and to gain a sense of perspective on one's own place within the larger scheme of things. It is often associated with a sense of interconnectedness and oneness, as well as a recognition of the interdependence of all things.
From a spiritual perspective, the big picture may include concepts such as karma, reincarnation, and the evolution of consciousness. It may also involve a recognition of the inherent divinity of all beings and the interconnectedness of all life.
Ultimately, the big picture is about seeing beyond the limitations of our individual perspectives and gaining a greater understanding of the larger patterns and cycles that govern the universe. It is a way to expand our awareness and consciousness and to connect with the deeper aspects of our being.
The words above were written in less than 10 seconds by the Artificial Intelligence engine ChatGPT in response to the query: "When spiritual teachers talk about the big picture what is it they are referring to?"
It's a pretty good answer but the Living Teaching of Advaita is here to point relentlessly beyond what can be grasped by a mind, be it human or machine.
A picture, no matter how big is always limited. It has a frame. It is contained. When there is a moment in which this big picture is seen, what is seen is simply a bigger, more expansive version of the small picture.
The Teaching points to That which envelopes and surrounds the big picture but cannot itself be contained. It is the boundless context for all that is. The Source and the substance of everything.
May it find you now!
With much love,
Wayne

THE SEEKING
by Ramesh S. Balsekar
Seeking Spiritual Truths Over Three Days With Ramesh
Is there any such thing as free will? Is everything in life predetermined? Does God play dice with the universe? Questions that intrigue seekers of the truth, are answered with great insight, sincere earnestness and absolute clarity in Ramesh's typical free-flowing dialogues, spiced with his delightful good humor, during the morning 'satsangs' or meetings with visitors from all over the world.
Through his teaching, Ramesh exposes the sense of personal doership as the root cause of all suffering. He describes how the process of this simple understanding can lift the burden of a life of struggle, and the peace and tranquility that can arise when one learns to accept totally what life offers, at any given moment, with grace and ease.
When asked how long it takes to grasp this understanding, Ramesh answered, "Three Days. Three Days!" So, here is a taste of a modern sage's daily talks, over three days, with visitors at his residence in Mumbai.

A LIVING GEM FROM RAMESH
(NEVER BEFORE BEEN PUBLISHED)
|
|
|
Finally what happens is that realization dawns that the identification with an exclusive isolated organism is purely illusory, and that all there is, is a transpersonal unity of beingness, a functioning – a play, the lila – of Totality which can only be witness and watched without the slightest futile desire to change anything. Can enlightenment be anything different other than the acceptance of “what is” to the extent of being the what-is: just Being the present moment.

WORDS FROM THE HEART
I have to contact you. A feeling has come over me since meeting you - filling my whole being. I can't do anything against it: without searching for a guru, without the wish to have a guru, I got one and that's you. It's such a strong feeling - doing my job, enjoying my children - always this feeling is beyond. I don't know exactly how to describe it, it's like "it is it" and a feeling of deep love to you.
Deep Love,
I
