Dear Runner,
As you probably already know, the governor of Rhode Island has extended the state of emergency, including the stay-at-home order, through at least May 8th. We thank the state for taking prudent measures to protect the public, but this unfortunately means we have no choice but to cancel the upcoming Providence Marathon, scheduled for May 3rd.
We understand how disappointing this is, and we're just as heartbroken as you are. We've already put a ton of unrecoverable time and resources into setting up the event, from ordering medals and t-shirts to paying for permits and inspections. We made every attempt to postpone this event to a fall date, but were unable to find a solution that worked with the City of Providence.
However, we still want to provide the best experience possible for you under the circumstances, so we're converting the Providence Marathon to a virtual run.
What's a virtual run? We ship all of your goodie bag items - finisher's medal, race bib, premium fleece vest (full/half), and tech tee (all runners) directly to your door. You'll then plan the ideal marathon, half, or 5K route in your location, pick the perfect day for a run, and then submit your time to receive an official finisher's certificate! See below for more details.
We know this isn't what you signed up for, but the entire country is being severely impacted by this pandemic, and the running industry is being hit especially hard. Please understand that we've already put a year's worth of time and resources into preparing for the event, so we simply don't have the resources to be able to offer refunds, transfers, or deferrals. With your support and understanding, we'll survive this catastrophe and continue producing great races for you for many years to come.
As thanks for your understanding during these trying times, we'll also be sending you a special code for 20% off the 2021 event once registration opens.

VIRTUAL RUN INSTRUCTIONS / VERIFYING YOUR MAILING ADDRESS
To make everything about the virtual run easier for you, we've moved your basic information from RunSignUp to EnMotive - another registration platform. If you've already signed up for a race in Enmotive, your registration will now be in your account! If this is your first race in Enmotive, you'll just need to follow the simple steps below to get started:
- Visit https://ruggedraces.enmotive.com/users/password.
- Enter your email address (must match the email address where you received this email).
- Click ‘Reset Password.’ You should receive a ‘Reset Password’ email very shortly after submitting your email address.
- Once you receive your ‘Reset Password’ email, click the ‘Reset Password’ link
- Enter in your new password and click ‘Change’
Once you have either logged into your existing EnMotive account OR reset your password and log in, you will be taken to your account page. Within your account you will find your race registration, along with any other registrations that used that same email address. You can make several edits to your account from this page. Items that can be updated are:
- Your email address
- Your mailing address
- Your mobile number number, and emergency contact information. If you need to change your first or last name please contact the support team at help@enmotive.com*.
Please make sure you've selected the right size by checking out the sizing guides (vest and tee) then update your selection in your EnMotive account if necessary. If your package is returned back to our office because of an incorrect address, we will not reship it.
Once you've verified your info, all that's left is to plan the ideal full/half marathon or 5K route in your area, pick the perfect day for a run, and then submit your time to receive an official finisher's certificate! To do so, log in to your EnMotive account here, find the event on the "Upcoming Races" page, click Log Result, enter your time, and download your official finisher's certificate!
