Announcement from the Wesley United Methodist Women Board
Sara, Julie, Sylvia and Nancy.

“I have to pray and find a way for survival for my community”..Judy Daka 3/13/20
Will you find it in your heart to join us for a “Silent Love Luncheon?

Wesley United Methodist Women are asking for your help. As you know last Sunday’s Irish lunch was cancelled due to the Coronavirus. This lunch was our fundraiser for Judy Daka who is a missionary in Zambia, Africa. To replace the lunch, we have come up with a “Silent Luncheon.” That is, we request $10.00 per person donation.
Please consider joining us for this worthy cause by writing a check payable to Wesley United Methodist Women or WUMW and mail to our treasurer by 3/30:
Julie Runnells,

Judy’s community is in a desperate situation for our support to provide food and supplies for all.  Their staple food is maize which they prepare a thick porridge and add veggies as side dish. With the drought this winter, there was no harvest. They search for wild tubers to replace the maize. Their seed bank is empty. Our support last year were funds to help dig a well. I recently received this email...“Our water well is doing fine though now water is too low. Over 200 people are surviving on this water well at least... But food has been an issue. It’s by God’s Grace and help from you people we are surviving."

"Please take care we are praying for you all. Imagine if it reaches our community how can we survive. Because of walking 20 miles to the nearest clinic we have built a simple mother’s shelter which is the site to build our clinic....the bicycle ambulance which we use for emergency now it’s broken.
We always pray to have a clinic nearby just a few hints I thought I can share with you and UMW....Judy." Mrs. Judith F. Daka, Executive Director, Ecumenical Development Foundation-Zambia, Africa
This Week's Scripture

Matthew 26:6-13

The Anointing at Bethany

Now while Jesus was at Bethany in the house of Simon the leper, a woman came to him with an alabaster jar of very costly ointment, and she poured it on his head as he sat at the table. But when the disciples saw it, they were angry and said, ‘Why this waste? For this ointment could have been sold for a large sum, and the money given to the poor.’ But Jesus, aware of this, said to them, ‘Why do you trouble the woman? She has performed a good service for me. For you always have the poor with you, but you will not always have me. By pouring this ointment on my body she has prepared me for burial. Truly I tell you, wherever this good news is proclaimed in the whole world, what she has done will be told in remembrance of her.’
